BOSTON, Mass. - Katie Scott finished 31st, and teammate Ashley Quick was 57th among 79 runners in the women's 5,000-meter run during Friday's portion of the Boston University Valentine Invitational.

"Katie and Ashley both bettered their previous top times on the GLIAC performance list in the 5K, but Grand Valley was also in attendance at BU," LSSU track and field coach Steve Eles said. "Three Grand Valley ladies finished in front of Katie, and four placed in front of Ashley. Katie will be ranked fourth in the GLIAC, and Ashley sixth."

Scott clocked a time of 18:09.08, while Quick finished in 18:45.57. GVSU's top runner was 14th in 17:30:43.

During today's events, Laker Paul Davis will compete in the 200-meter dash and Eric Oulette will run in the 800.
