Feb. 13, 2007 MARQUETTE - Lake Superior State swept the top four spots in the men's 1-mile run, and Travis Baril and Dana Skytta tied for first in the men's high jump to lead the Laker track and field team at Saturday's NMU Northern Challenge held in the Superiordome. Ben Tarbutton won the men's mile in 4:27.05, while Luke Allen finished second, Scott Hosie third and Jake Hoover fourth. Baril and Skytta cleared 6-4 to win the high jump. Baril also won the triple jump with a leap of 40-3. LSSU's other winner was Jordan Romel in the shot put (43-8), while Skytta was third. Runner-up finishes went to Marc Small in the 800-meter run, Darryl Byrge in the 55-meter hurdles and Skytta in the weight throw. LSSU's Stephanie Riedel clocked a 5:23.97 to finish second in the women's 1-mile run. Amanda Pieczynski also led the Lakers by placing fourth in the 55-meter dash (:07.85) and fifth in the 200-meter dash (:28.16). The LSSU women's 4x400-meter relay was also second in 4:31.25.
