MOUNT PLEASANT - The Lake Superior State men's track and field team clocked a school-record 3:22.86 to win the men's 4x400-meter relay at the Jack Skoog Open held Friday at Central Michigan University.
Other top finishers for the Laker men were Travis Baril, who placed second in the triple jump (42-4) and tied for third in the high jump (6-4 ¼), DJ Battistella, who was second in the 400-meter run (:50.43), and Jordan Romel, who was third in the weight throw (50-9 ½). Mark Small placed fourth in the 800-meter run (1:57.46).
Katie Scott led the Laker women's track and field team by placing fourth in the 1-mile run in 5:14.42. Mandi DeBlock was 10th in 5:24.93, followed by Stephanie Riedel, who was 12th in 5:26.97. Amanda Pieczynski tied for ninth in the 60-meter dash (:08.33).
