April 14, 2007 KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Lake Superior state junior Adam Smith and freshman Katie Scott competed at the University of Tennessee Sea Ray Relays over the weekend. Smith placed 14th among 50 competitors in the men's 400-meter dash with a time of :48.18. He was the top Division II finishers and was 10th among eligible collegiate runners. Scott finished 19th among 30 competitors in the women's 3,000-meter run with a school-record time of 10:21.64. She shaved 11 seconds off LSSU's former school record. She was the fastest among three DII competitors in the event. For the first time in the 41-year history of the event, the Sea Ray Relays were not completed due to severe rain and lightning. |
