Skytta breaks school record for decathlon points

HILLSDALE - Lake Superior State sophomore Dana Skytta totaled a school record 4,777 points to place ninth in the decathlon during the second day of competition Friday at the Hillsdale Gina Relays.

Freshman Travils Baril cleared 6-4 3/4 to place seventh in the high jump. He was third among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference representatives.

LSSU's top female and male finishers in the 3,000-meter steeplechase were Katie Scott, who was 13th in 11:19.95, and Scott Hosie, who was 33rd in 9:39.16. Mandi DeBlock was 24th in 11:48.64.
