EMPORIA, Kan. - Lake Superior State senior Anthony Pavicic placed third in his heat and qualified third overall for the NCAA Division II men's 1,500-meter run national finals, which will be held Saturday at Emporia State University.

Pavicic clocked a 3:55.13 and easily made the field of 12 finalists. The fastest qualifying time of 3:54.39 was recorded by Larry McDaris of the Colorado School of Mines. McDaris was also in Pavicic's heat.
