LSSU men ranked 12th nationally in team GPA

NEW ORLEANS - Sophomores Katie Scott and Ashley Quick earned Division II academic all-America status, and the Lake Superior State men's cross country team was ranked 12th nationally in team grade point average, the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced this week.

Scott, an exercise science major with a 3.786 GPA, finished 28th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet held in November. Quick, a math/secondary education major with a 3.614 GPA, was 45th.

The LSSU men's cross country team posted a team GPA of 3.38, which tied for 12th with Fort Lewis and Slippery Rock. LSSU had the highest team GPA among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference schools.

The LSSU women's cross country team had a team GPA of 3.23 and was ranked 75th.
