EAST LANSING - Lake Superior State 16-year-old freshman Meghan Juuti placed 43rd out of 147 runners to lead the Lakers at the Nike/Playmakers Spartan Invitational held Friday at Forest Akers East Golf Course.

Juuti clocked a 23:58 on the 6K course, while LSSU senior Anthony Pavicic was 55th in 26:51 on the men's 8K course.

Freshman Mandi Deblock and junior Jen Buerger were 52nd and 55th, respectively, for the Laker women. Senior Colin Vohlken was 58th and freshman Ben Tarbutton placed 60th for the LSSU men.

Michigan State freshman Danette Doetzel won the women's race in 20:52. The top male finisher was Oakland senior Adam Frezze in 24:54.
