Three Laker women finish in the top 60 at Roy Griak Invitational

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Sophomore Katie Scott placed 18th, while junior Stephanie Riedel was 58th and sophomore Ashley Quick was 59th to lead the Lake Superior State women's cross country team at the Roy Griak Invitational held Saturday at Les Bolstad Golf Course at the University of Minnesota.

The Roy Griak is the nation's largest cross country meet and includes divisions for Division I, II and III collegiate teams and high school teams. Scott, who clocked a 23:47 on the 6K course, placed 18th among 283 women in Division II. She was second among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference runners.

The LSSU women's team placed 18th in Division II, while the men's team was 23rd. Ben Tarbutton led the LSSU men's team by finishing 80th in 27:45 on the 8K course. There were 257 competitors in men's Division II.
