Katie Scott earns all-region honors

KENOSHA, Wis. - Lake Superior State freshman Katie Scott earned All-Great Lakes Region honors after placing 11th at the NCAA Cross Country Regional held Saturday at Wisconsin-Parkside.

Scott finished the 6K course in 22:34 to lead the Laker women's squad, which placed 15th among 24 teams. The Laker men's squad was 11th among 23 teams.

The top 15 individuals earned all-region honors.

Scott Hosie was 32nd in 33:31.1 to lead the Laker men on an 8K course. Chris Olds was 49th in 33:56.9, followed by Tom Thornton in 64th (34:17.7).

Ben Tarbutton placed 68th in 34:28.4, followed by Emory Nelkie, who was 103rd in 35:27.4. Rounding out the Lakers' top seven spots were Kevin Macomber, who was 127th in 36:11.7, and Luke Allen, who finished 134th in 36:27.0.

Mandi DeBlock was the No. 2 finisher for the Laker women, placing 49th in 23:47.3. Ashley Quick finished 99th in 24:42.5, followed by Stephanie Riedel in 102nd (24:46.8) and Danielle Reinbold in 110th (24:58.7).

Rounding out LSSU's top seven were Marissa Ingle in 121st place with a time of 25:10.0 and Stacey Leyder in 128th place (25:27.2).
