SAULT STE. MARIE - The second annual Turkey Trot 5K begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Lake Superior State University Norris Center.

The event also includes a kids fun run, which begins at 8:45 a.m. Both races begin with a 200-meter lap around the LSSU indoor track. The 5K course heads out onto the bike path and is fast and flat. It includes two U-turns and will be closed to traffic.

The race day entry fee is $20 for the 5K and $5 for the fun run. The first 100 registered participants will receive an official race souvenir. Packet pick-up and late registration begins at 7 a.m. in the Norris Center indoor track area. Late registration closes at 8:45 a.m.

Proceeds benefit the LSSU cross country and track and field teams.
