UNION, Ky. - Lake Superior State senior golfer Brad Ward improved his score every day and finished fifth with a 76-73-72--221 at the NCAA Super Regional held at Lassing Pointe Golf Club.

During Wednesday's final round, Ward birdied Nos. 5 and 8 to go to 2-under-par at the turn, but he carded a bogey on the par-5 10th hole and a double bogey on the par-4 12th hole to fall to 1-over.

Ward fought back with a birdie on the par-4 13th, but bogeyed No. 14 to finish 1-over for the round. He placed three strokes behind medalist Jonathan Ehlen (73-73-72--218) of host Northern Kentucky and second among Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference golfers. Runner-up Brandon Parsons of NKU was also playing on his home course.

Last year, Ward placed sixth in the super regional.
