Ward shoots a 78 on last day

BOLIVAR, Mo - Lake Superior State junior Brad Ward dropped from first to a tie for sixth place in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional after shooting a 78 during Wednesday's final round.

Ward, who held a one-shot lead through Tuesday, finished with a 74-71-78-223 on the Silo Ridge Country Club course. He tied for 10th overall in the NCAA Super Regional, which also includes the Central Region. Whether he qualified for the NCAA Championships in Sunriver, Ore., will be announced at a later date.

Gannon's Dave Patronik (71-75-72) was the Great Lakes Regional medalist, while Ferris State won the team title. The top 10 teams and top 10 individuals from the super regional advance to the national tournament.
