SAULT STE. MARIE - Division IV state runner-up Ryan Gnatkowski (naw-cow-ski) of Saginaw has signed a National Letter of Intent to play golf at Lake Superior State University.

Gnatkowski recorded a 74.9 scoring average while playing for Saginaw Valley Lutheran High School. During the MHSAA State Tournament played last fall at Forest Akers West Golf Course in East Lansing, he fired a 78-79-157 to finish three strokes behind the medalist.

"Ryan is an outstanding citizen, student and golfer," LSSU coach Brady Larson said. "I am pleased he will be joining our golf program next season."
