ALLENDALE - The Lake Superior State golf team followed Friday's 36-hole tournament at Ferris State with 18-hole rounds on Saturday and Sunday at the Grand Valley State Invitational.

Mike Gietzen shot a 75-82-157 to tie for 28th as LSSU finished 11th among 11 teams at GVSU.

Frank Kucher (76-82-158) tied for 37th, while Ryan Gnatkowski (83-78-161) tied for 48th, Jon Clarke (83-84-167) placed 62nd and Geoff Arnoldy (91-85-176) was 67th.

GVSU, led by medalist Tony Mango (75-68-143), won the team title.

The Lakers compete in their first NCAA regional qualifier on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 24-25, at Hawkshead Golf Course in South Haven.
