COLDWATER - Lake Superior State senior Brad Ward shot a 1-over 73 on a rainy Monday to move up from a four-way tie for ninth place to place second in the NCAA Great Lakes Fall Regional at Blackberry Patch Golf Course.

Ward shot a two-day total of 75-73-148 to finish two strokes behind medalist David Morgan of Findlay. LSSU's Frank Kucher rebounded from his first-round 80 to fire a 74 on Monday and finish in a six-way tie for 10th place.

The Lakers improved their team score by 20 strokes and jumped from 19th place to ninth. Findlay won the team title with 609 strokes.

Mike Gietzen (83-79-162) tied for 55th place, while Jason Solgat (91-83-174) tied for 94th and Geoff Arnoldy (94-86-180) was 101st.
