Former LSSU goaltender Don Muio has returned to his alma mater to serve as a volunteer assistant coach and work with Laker goaltenders.
While playing at LSSU from 1969-73, Muio posted a career goals-against average of 3.94 and a career save percentage of .873, which ranks 10th on the Lakers' all time list. He is also ranked seventh in career saves with 2,161. Muio was also a member of the 1972 NAIA National Championship team.
Muio played two seasons of professional hockey with the Omaha Knights (CHL), Charlotte Checkers (SHL), and Des Monies Capitols (IHL).
Muio's coaching background includes a stint with the Soo Greyhounds (OHL).
