BIG RAPIDS - Ferris State out-shot Lake Superior State 19-5 and scored two goals in the third period to come from behind and beat the Lakers 2-1 in a Central Collegiate Hockey Association game Friday at Ewigleben Arena.

FSU's Tim Vokey scored an even-strength goal at 3:01 to tie the game, 1-1, and Simon Mangos tallied the game-winner at 12:10 during a Bulldog power play. Mangos also drew an assist on Vokey's goal.

LSSU (7-17-7 overall, 5-15-5 CCHA) controlled the first two periods, out-shooting Ferris State 19-16 and taking a 1-0 lead on Mike Adamek's goal at 5:49 of the second period. Matt Restoule and Steve McJannet drew assists.

Ferris State's 1-for-3 success on the power play proved to be the deciding factor. LSSU was 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Bulldog goaltender Mike Brown (15-15-3) totaled 24 saves to earn the win. Jeff Jakaitis (3-7-4) had 33 saves for LSSU. The Lakers pulled Jakaitis in favor of an extra attacker during the final 19 seconds.

The Lakers and Bulldogs (15-15-3 overall, 10-14-1 CCHA) play again Saturday at 7:05 p.m. Ferris State, which ended LSSU's three-game unbeaten streak, and Bowling Green, which defeated Northern Michigan 2-1 on Friday, remain tied for ninth place in the CCHA standings with 21 points each. LSSU is 11th with 15 points.
