OXFORD, Ohio - Second-ranked Miami, which boasts the nation's most-potent offense, won Game 1 of this weekend's Central Collegiate Hockey Association series against Lake Superior State, 6-1. The RedHawks (22-3-0 overall, 14-3-0 CCHA), who were eliminated by the Lakers during the second round of last season's CCHA Playoffs, jumped to a 3-0 lead in the first period and extended it to 5-0 through two periods. Ryan Jones, Kevin Roeder, Justin Mercier, Jarod Palmer, Carter Camper and Andy Miele scored goals for Miami. Camper's goal was scored on a penalty shot at 11:54 of the second period and gave the RedHawks a 5-0 command.
