Bachusz makes professional debut in ECHL

Jeremy Bachusz

March 23, 2003

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - Lake Superior State senior captain Jeremy Bachusz made his professional debut in the East Coast Hockey League on Saturday and helped the Arkansas RiverBlades to a 3-2 victory over the Pensacola Ice Pilots.

Bachusz, who was the Lakers' leading scorer with eight goals and 10 assists, left Sault Ste. Marie last week and arrived in Arkansas late Friday. He is expected to return for the Soo Blue Liners Banquet on April 19.

Former Laker Terry Marchant scored the RiverBlades' first goal at 6:08 of the first period. Bachusz was scoreless as Arkansas (34-21-11) completed a two-game sweep of the Ice Pilots. The RiverBlades are third in the Southwest Division.

Bachusz re-united with Laker teammate Aaron Davis, who left LSSU for the ECHL in December. Davis has one goal and two assists in 17 games. Marchant, who played for the Lakers from 1994-98, has 21 goals and 45 assists in 66 games.
