The Lakers gave Jim Roque a win in his head coaching debut. They play host to the U.S. Under-18 team in another exhibition contest at 7:05 p.m. Saturday.

Derek R. Smith scored a power-play goal 21 seconds into the third period as LSSU finished 4-for-8 with the man advantage.

LSSU killed off all 10 York power plays, but the Lions spoiled Ciccone's shutout with a goal at 7:15 of the third period.

Ciccone totaled 24 saves, while York's Kevin Druce and Jimmy Williams combined for 44 saves.
