DETROIT - Wayne State, which is ranked fifth in the Great Lakes Region, defeated Lake Superior State 8-1 in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's tennis match Saturday at The Sports Club of West Bloomfield.

Rookie Jeff Ferrel won 7-5, 6-4 at No. 6 singles to lead LSSU (5-8 overall, 0-2 GLIAC). WSU improved to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the league.
