SAULT STE. MARIE - Lake Superior State's Jonathon Legare-Goulet and Matt Earley put up a tough battle before falling 8-6 at No. 1 doubles as the Laker men's tennis team took on eighth-ranked Northwood on Friday at the Arbuckle Student Activity Center.

Northwood (6-0 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, 10-2 overall) has a lineup up that includes the nation's top-ranked singles player, Teddy Mebounou. LSSU fell to 2-13 overall and 0-6 in the GLIAC.

The Lakers conclude the regular season April 14 against Grand Valley State.
