MIDLAND - The Lake Superior State men's and women's tennis teams both suffered first-round losses at the NCAA Regional, which began Thursday at Northwood University.

The LSSU men's team lost 5-0 to 10th-ranked Northwood and finished the season with an 8-10 record. The LSSU women dropped a 5-1 decision to Indianapolis and ended an impressive eight-month season with a 14-12 mark.

Northwood's men, who were seeded second in the region, improved to 15-1. Indianapolis, which was seeded fourth in the women's division and 34th nationally, improved to 16-9. The Laker men were seeded seventh, while the women were fifth.
