March 1, 2007 BAY CITY - Lake Superior State senior forward Mandi Johnson and sophomore forward Ryan Kuhl earned All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team honors, while senior guard Monica Rehmann was named to the All-GLIAC Second Team for 2007.
Johnson finished ninth on LSSU's all-time scoring list with 1,353 points and takes over as the Lakers' all-time steal leader with 312. She also moved up to fourth on the career rebounding list with 780 and 10th in career field goals with 495.
Rehmann set a new school record for single-season free-throw percentage and her 49 three-point field goals ranks third on LSSU's single-season list. She finished second on LSSU's career three-point field goal list with 174, fourth in career assists with 330 and second in career free-throw percentage at .814 (236-290). The women's All-GLIAC North Division First Team also included Grand Valley State's Julia Braseth and Crystal Zick, Ferris State's Rachel Folcik and Michigan Tech's Sarah Stream. The second team included Northern Michigan's Allison Carroll, Ferris State's Kristin Reinhart, Grand Valley State's Erika Ryskamp and Michigan Tech's Katie Wysocky. Gannon's Christina Jackson was named GLIAC Player of the Year, while Wysocky was the Freshman of the Year. Gannon coach Cleve Wright was named GLIAC Coach of the Year. The men's All-GLIAC North Division First Team also included GVSU's Callistus Eziukwu and Jason Jamerson, MTU's Radayl Richardson and NMU's Ricky Volcy. Second-team honors went to GVSU's Mike Hall, Saginaw Valley State's Lawrence Ross, FSU's Terrance Shaw, MTU's Tim Strom and NMU's Will Washington. Volcy was named GLIAC Player of the Year, and Findlay's Marcus Parker earned rookie of the year honors. UF coach Ron Niekamp was named GLIAC Coach of the Year. |
