Beauchamp, Kuhl garner All-GLIAC honors

BAY CITY - Lake Superior State senior guard Shalyn Beauchamp (Rock, Mich.) and junior center Ryan Kuhl (Rochester, Mich.) were named to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference North Division Second Team in women's and men's basketball, respectively.

Beauchamp also received GLIAC North Division All-Defensive Team honors.

Both players were recognized for the outstanding all-around play.

Beauchamp emerged from being a role player during the past two seasons and led the Lakers on the court and off. She was ranked sixth in the GLIAC in assists per game (4.62), seventh in assist-turnover ratio, 10th in free-throw percentage (.798), 11th in steals per game (1.92), 18th in rebounding (5.5 rpg) and 24th in scoring (11.2 ppg).

At LSSU, she finished fifth in career free-throw percentage (.785), eighth in career three-point field goals (80) and 10th in career assists (244). Her season total of 120 assists ranks eighth on the Lakers' all-time list.

Ryan Kuhl


Kuhl, who has 1,120 career points through three seasons, earned All-GLIAC recognition for the second straight year. In 2007-08, he was ranked sixth in the GLIAC in blocked shots per game (0.96), 11th in rebounding (6.7 rpg), 12th in field-goal percentage (.521) and 17th in scoring (14.2 ppg).

Heading into his final season, he is ranked sixth in career field-goal percentage at LSSU (427-795, .537).
