Rick Mick took over as LSSU's athletic trainer for hockey and softball in January, 2004. He is a 1999 graduate of LSSU with a bachelor of science degree in exercise science.

Prior to returning to LSSU, Mick was the athletic trainer and equipment manager for the Bozeman Icedogs Junior A hockey team in Bozeman, Mont. He worked under former Laker assistant coach John LaFontaine. From 1996-2000, Mick was the athletic trainer for the Kewadin Casinos Junior A hockey team in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
