SAULT STE. MARIE - Members of the Lake Superior State softball team served to an estimated 150 guests who attended the Lakers' annual "Take Me Out to the Ballgame Dinner" on Sunday at the Elks Club.

Rick Fitzpatrick, owner of Pingatore Cleaners, donated food, while Bill and Sharleen Christensen of Marquette, and Linda Zandarski of Coloma collected several door prizes for the event.

Jackie Jorgensen donated half of her 50/50 winnings back to the Lakers. Several auction item bidders, including Bob Selke, Meta Geyer, Bill Crawford, Bill Whitman, Tom Boger, Don Myers and Gerald McDonald helped raise addition dollars for LSSU women's softball.

The Lakers open their season against West Virginia-Wesleyan at 9 a.m. Saturday in Kissimmee, Fla.
