Lakers fall to Southern Indiana and St. Rose on Sunday

KISSIMMEE, Fla. - The Lake Superior State softball team lost 3-0 to Southern Indiana and 3-1 to St. Rose on Sunday during its second day of competition at the Rebel Spring Games.

LSSU (1-3) stranded six base runners in its loss to Southern Indiana. Losing pitcher Lisa Dahm was 2-for-2 at the plate to help her own cause, while Ashley Yarrington finished 2-for-3. Amber Kern added one hit.

Dahm gave up three earned runs on eight hits, five strikeouts and two walks.

St. Rose scored one run in the top of the third inning and two in the fifth to come back from a 1-0 deficit. Two of St. Rose's runs were unearned.

April Brandt had an RBI triple for LSSU in the second inning. Rachel Hall, Nichole Dunford and Dahm added one hit each.

Stephanie Reveley suffered the loss, allowing three runs on five hits, no strikeouts and two walks through 4.1 innings. Relieve Niki Christensen gave up two hits and struck out five.

LSSU plays Great Lakes Valley Conference opponents St. Joseph's at 9 a.m. and Bellarmine at 11 a.m. today.
