KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Senior pitcher Lisa Daham hit a one-out single with bases loaded to knock in the winning run in the top of the seventh inning, and right fielder Nikki Christensen added a two-run single with two outs to lead the Lake Superior State softball team to a 6-3 victory over Wisconsin-Parkside on Thursday at the Rebel Spring Games.

The Lakers (3-9) also lost 5-3 to Northern State on Thursday. They play Northern Kentucky and Southern Illinois-Edwardsville today.

In the victory over UWP (2-2), Lacey Knoop led off the seventh inning with a single and advanced to third when Helena Zandarski reached base on an error. Nicole Dunford loaded the bases with a line drive single that actually hit Zandarski as she stepped off the base. The play was ruled dead and Knoop returned to third, but Zandarski was ruled safe because the shortstop had no chance to make a play on the ball.

Dahm's single scored Knoop, and Christensen knocked in Zandarski and Dunford. Christensen finished 3-for-4 at the plate for the game, while Dunford and Dahm had two hits each.

Amber Kern added three RBIs, scoring one run on a single in the second inning and two runs on a hit in the sixth.

Dahm went the distance in the win, allowing three runs on five hits, five strikeouts and no walks. LSSU trailed 2-1 until scoring two runs in the sixth inning.

Northern State (1-10) scored two runs in the fourth inning to extend a 3-2 lead to 5-2. LSSU added a run in the seventh.

Knoop was 2-for-3 to lead the Lakers, and Rachel Hall and April Brandt added doubles. Dunford, Dahm, Christensen and Erin Retherford had one hit each.

Stephanie Reveley pitched five innings and took the loss. She gave up five runs on seven hits, five strikeouts and four walks. Christenen struck out five during the last two innings.
