Lakers softball drops pair to Grand Valley

Nikki Christensen

March 31, 2007

ALLENDALE, Mich. - Grand Valley's strong offensive lineup proved to be too much for Lake Superior, as the Lakers fell twice on Saturday, 5-0 and 15-0.

Lake Superior got off to a great start on the back of Nikki Christensen's strong opening performance, heading into the bottom of the forth in a scoreless tie. Crista Buresh's two run homer opened up a three run lead after Nichole Woityra scored on a fielder's choice for Grand Valley.

Christensen ended up allowing three runs on three hits in three and one-third innings while taking the loss for the Lakers. Stephanie Reveley closed the game for the Lakers allowing two runs on as many hits. Lisa Dahm would take the loss for the Lakers in the second game after going two and one-third innings.

Lori Andjelich and Stephanie Cole both pitched complete game shutouts for Grand Valley.

The Lakers will be in action again Sunday April 1 at 1:00 against Ferris State.
