April 27, 2007 SAULT STE. MARIE - Northwood defeated the Lake Superior State softball team 10-2 and 18-8 on Friday at Locey Field. The Lakers (6-32 overall, 1-17 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) conclude their season with a double-header against Saginaw Valley State beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at Locey Field. NU (18-21 overall, 9-9 GLIAC) out-hit LSSU 13-2 in Game 1. Helena Zandarski led the Lakers with a double, and Stephanie Reveley added a single. Nicole Dunford hit a two-run homer for her seventh home run of the season in Game 2. Erin Retherford was 2-for-2 with her third home run of the season and a double for a total of three RBIs. Zandarski was 2-for-4 at the plate. Lacey Knoop and April Brandt added one hit each. Brandt's hit was a double.
