HOLLAND - The Lake Superior State softball team finished 1-2 at a fall tournament on Saturday and split a double-header with Kalamazoo Valley Community College on Sunday.

Grand Valley State defeated Lake Superior Sate 6-2 on Saturday. Lacey Knoop and Jenny Elliott led the Lakers with two hits each. One of Elliott's hits was a double.

Also on Saturday, LSSU was held to two hits in a 4-2 loss to Grand Rapids Community College. Nichole Dunford had a double, and Helena Zandarski added two hits in a 5-4 victory over Muskegon Community College. April Brandt was credited with the game-winning RBI on a walk.

Elliott had two hits including a home run, and Katie Brandt had two hits including a double in a 4-2 victory over KVCC on Sunday. Knoop was 3-for-4 with a triple and a double, and Elliott, Dunford and April Brandt had two hits each as LSSU lost Game 2 to KVCC, 7-6.
