Lakers win at No. 1 singles and No. 2 doubles

ALLENDALE - Lake Superior State won matches at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles despite losing a 7-2 decision to Grand Valley State during Saturday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's tennis match.

Grand Valley State improved to 5-0 with the victory, while LSSU dropped to 0-5.

LSSU senior Megan LaMothe improved her No. 1 singles record to 3-2 with the 6-3, 6-1 win. She paired with Weronika Lomacka to win 8-1 at No. 1 doubles. LaMothe improved her doubles record to 3-2 and is 2-0 while playing with Lomacka.

The Lakers' next match is Oct. 5 at Wayne State.
