MIDLAND - The Lake Superior State women's tennis team defeated Grand Valley State 5-4 in a consolation match on Saturday and finished third in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Lakers ended the fall season with an 8-5 record and have a shot at a berth in next spring's NCAA regional. GVSU finished 11-4.
