ALLENDALE - The 11th-ranked Grand Valley State volleyball team blanked Lake Superior State, 30-17, 30-19, 30-17, on Thursday in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams. GVSU (11-2 overall, 1-0 GLIAC) held LSSU (4-8 overall, 0-1 GLIAC) to just 23 kills and a .009 attack percentage. Sara Hess, Samantha Gibbs and Brishia Stroven had five kills each to lead Lake Superior State. Erin McLain totaled 12 assists, followed by Ashley Purvis with seven. Jessica Ewer contributed 14 digs. LSSU competes at 7 p.m. Friday at Ferris State. |
