UNIVERSITY CENTER - Twenty-four hours after losing a five-set battle at Northwood, the Lake Superior State volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Saginaw Valley State, which came into Friday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match with five days' rest.

SVSU (9-3 overall, 2-2 GLIAC) swept LSSU, 30-17, 30-21, 30-26. The Lakers fell to 4-9 overall and 1-3 in league play. They return home to play host to Northern Michigan at 1 p.m. Sunday at Bud Cooper Gymnasium.

LSSU, which totaled 69 kills the previous night in Midland, was limited to 36 kills by the Cardinals. Brishia Stroven led the Lakers with nine kills, followed by Ashley Wyers with eight.

Erin McLain finished with 18 assists, while back-up setter Liz Holden had nine assists and a team-high nine digs.
