SAULT STE. MARIE - Ferris State came back from a first-set loss to win the next three games of Thursday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match at Bud Cooper Gymnasium.

The Bulldogs (11-3 overall, 3-2 GLIAC) posted a 27-30, 30-25, 30-23, 30-19 victory.

LSSU, which fell to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in league play, now has two days to prepare for defending NCAA Division II champion Grand Valley State. The Lakers play host to GVSU at 1 p.m. Sunday.

Freshman Sara Hess totaled nine kills and a .333 attack percentage to lead LSSU against the Bulldogs. Ali Jones added eight kills, and Ashley Wyers, Jamie Groos and Brishia Stroven had seven each.

Setter Erin McLain finished with 29 assists. Jessica Ewer led in digs with 13, followed by Jones with 12.

Danielle Baucher led FSU with 21 kills.

The teams combined for 29 service errors.
