Huskies take three of four games from Lakers

SAULT STE. MARIE - Michigan Tech claimed three of four games to win Monday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match at Bud Cooper Gymnasium.

The Huskies (9-10 overall, 5-5 GLIAC) defeated LSSU, 30-18, 17-30, 30-18, 30-25.

Lake Superior State (5-14 overall, 2-8 GLIAC), continues its homestand with a 7 p.m. match Thursday against Ashland.

Ashley Wyers totaled 16 kills, two blocks and a .324 attack percentage to lead the Lakers. Ali Jones added 11 kills and had a .250 attack rate, while Jamie Groos contributed eight kills and five blocks.

Laker setter Erin McLain totaled 39 assists, and Jessica Ewer led in digs with 19.

Both teams totaled 52 kills.
