Oct. 5, 2006 SAULT STE. MARIE - Ashland came back from a Game 1 loss and took the next three sets to win Thursday's Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match at Bud Cooper Gymnasium. The Eagles (13-6 overall, 7-3 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) totaled 74 kills on their way to a 26-30, 30-13, 30-24, 30-20 victory. The Lakers (5-15 overall, 2-9 GLIAC) were limited to 36 kills. Ashley Wyers led LSSU with 10, followed by Brishia Stroven and Ali Jones with nine each. Erin McLain totaled 26 assists and five block assists. Jessica Ewer had a team-high 23 digs, followed by McLain and Jones with 10 each. LSSU wraps up a three-match homestand at 7 p.m. Friday against Findlay. |
